This month we visited the studio of the Bronx based texture artist to see her WORK OF ART and ask a few questions:

HM: Favorite Color?
LA: Lavender

HM: Where did u get your start, in art?
LA: As a young girl I always doodled, creating simple lines and circles but never went beyond that. At home, I saw a viral video of a pouring art piece and it inspired me to get back into art and try my hand at it again.

HM: Desribe your art process? What is the most rewarding part?
LA: I’m inspired by my love for the outdoors. I love to use colors inspired by flowers and create nature scenes. The most rewarding part is not even the finished product, but actually seeing how the colors mix and blend on the canvas.

HM: You get to #AwardYourselfAndSomeoneElse, what would it be for?
LA: I would award myself as NEVER GIVING UP, and the someone else would be my daughter, Liza, for INSPIRING HOPE.

HM: What are your plans for the future?
LA: My plans are to do as many pieces as I can and give them to family members (and maybe sell a few). I surprise myself at how much I have accomplished as a self taught artist and still have much more to learn and do.
